My "reflections on practice" blog at wordpress......

Since I started working on my project way back in August 2007, I created a blog at wordpress.com. I plan to provide a link to that to ensure that all my planning is available at this current blog.

I have to organize the data I collected as I introduced my project to the students. The additional tools I wish to add to my "teaching the unit on Cells with as many Web 2.0 technologies as is possible" project are podcasts.
I also have to include photographs taken as students were busy learning all about cells and getting some practical work done as well.

Hi, Suhasini

I’m sorry; I just check your e-mail in this morning. Anyhow it is good to talk to you over the internet. I’m having a wonderful time with my family and my sister’s new son. Sometimes it is too noisy though. Oh, you linked my blog; I will do yours, too. Keep in touch. Good luck. ~ David Seo

Hey Suhasini-

I was wondering how everything is going. Did you decide to not continue using the web 2.0 technologies after the initial period at the beginning of the year?
I am curious if you are still using any of them. If so, which ones and why those? If not, why not?

This will help me as I am about to lauch what blogs are and get my students going on them later this week.

Hope to hear back from you!

Sini

What is happening with your project? I haven't seen a new blog post so was just wondering where you are at? Are your students still using it? Or did you decide to abandon it?

Write back :-)

April,
This is a very busy time of the academic year for an IB Coordinator and an IB teacher!
I am trying to balance everything and my TIP posts have taken a backseat...though it is not my intention!
The web 2.0 technology that has consistently worked in my classroom is the class blog.My students and I literally use it like a bulletin board to convey all related info to one another.
We have links to good sites for a unit being taught in class, lab procedures, team member lists, photographs of students doing their labs etc.
I often tell my students that the old excuses that they were absent do not hold any good with me since the blog is always updated with the most recent status of any unit that is being covered.
I still have to find time to teach them how to create podcasts....soon...!!!!!!!
Thanks for asking me questions on my TIP!!!
How is yours going?
